You know how after Christmas when you think you have everything packed up and put away and then you find some elf or reindeer hiding? That’s what this post is… somehow it got waylaid at Christmas, but it can’t wait until next year so humor me, please! I think I’ve mentioned repeatedly on this blog that we are faithful attendees of the Sycamore High School Madrigals. While I love the entire program, the part my sweet niece Lucy has played, and even the part where you have to perform some trick to get salt and pepper for your table, my very favorite part is special to Sycamore and was written by two Sycamore High School grads, Joe Hoffman and Joel Strack. This part is called the Spirit of Christmas and is always done by candlelight. I’d videoed it when we attended with every intention of posting it and then got busy with Kar-Fre at Christmas. Today, Joel Strack called to place an order and I was able to share with him how special The Spirit of Christmas is and how every year it brings me to tears. He was touched that it was still being used so many years later. I was thrilled I was able to share with Joel how awesome this piece is and decided that its message is as timely today as it is during the Christmas season.
This is not the best video, but you can hear the message…
